Cycling in Alaska (and the WORLD!)

Alaska is a great place to recreate, but few people know that it is a GREAT place to CYCLE! The scenery is breathtaking and the people are wonderful. There are so many places to travel to and so much to do. This is the best kept secret in the US! There are also so many places in the world that I have to see, this is just one adventure that has started my journey!

About Me

My photo
akwoman59
Anchorage, Alaska, United States
69 year old mother of 3 and grandmother of 9. I would rather ride my bike, hike or canoe or kayak than just about anything else. If my kids and grandkids can come with, all the better. I live in Alaska and have the perfect year round playground. This blog is being created to help me keep track of my cycling training and workouts. I ride my bike to work almost everyday. Soon the snow will fly and the roads and trails will get yucky and I will have to curtail my outside riding. So I am working with a trainer over the internet and will use this site to help document my training during the winter. My training goal is to get better on my bike(s) I have a few events I like to participate in and I want to do better in all of them. The most important is the Annual Alaska Bike for Women in May. So this blog will assist me.
